A one-way fuel check valve (non-return valve) is installed inline on a low-pressure fuel line to allow flow in a single direction and prevent fuel from flowing back toward the tank. This keeps the fuel line primed after the engine is switched off, reduces hard- or slow-start issues after the vehicle has been standing, and helps prevent the carburettor from running dry or the fuel pump from drawing air.

The valve body is machined from an aluminium alloy for corrosion resistance and compatibility with petroleum-based fuels. The hexagonal centre section allows wrench tightening during installation, and the ribbed (stepped) hose barbs on both ends grip standard fuel hose. An arrow embossed on the body marks the flow direction — the valve must be oriented so the arrow points away from the tank, toward the pump or carburettor.

Technical specifications
  • Barb diameter (hose inner diameter): 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm or 12 mm
  • Body material: aluminium alloy
  • Connections: ribbed barb fittings, for standard fuel hose
  • Flow direction: marked by an arrow on the body
  • Mechanism: ball or diaphragm with return spring
  • Intended use: low-pressure fuel systems (carburettor systems)
Compatible fluids
  • Petrol / gasoline (all octane grades)
  • Diesel and bio-diesel
  • Heating oil, kerosene, paraffin
  • Water (in systems that are not self-priming)
Applications
  • Carburettor systems (cars, motorcycles, mopeds)
  • Outboard engines and low-pressure marine fuel systems
  • Tractors, lawn mowers, chainsaws, generators, gensets
  • Auxiliary heaters, burners and fuel transfer setups
  • Non-self-priming water pumps
Installation

Install the valve inline with the arrow pointing in the direction of fuel flow — away from the tank, toward the consumer (pump or carburettor). Push the hose over the barbs and secure with metal hose clamps. We recommend installing the valve closer to the fuel pump, between the tank and the pump.

Limitations

The valve is not intended for high-pressure systems (e.g. common-rail diesel injection), aggressive acids, or corrosive liquids. Select the variant (6, 8, 10 or 12 mm) according to the inner diameter of your existing fuel hose.
