A universal fuel transfer hose for low-pressure fuel-line applications in vehicles, marine engines and stationary equipment. It is built around a nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) inner tube reinforced with a braided polyester layer, and finished with an outer cover resistant to oil, ozone, weathering and abrasion. The construction complies with SAE J30R6 and BS AU 108/2 (L4/C4R) — the reference standards for low-pressure fuel-line use — with the relevant markings printed on the hose cover alongside size and working pressure.
The NBR inner tube is compatible with petrol, diesel and most common petroleum derivatives. The outer cover handles routine exposure to engine-bay heat, UV radiation and underbody conditions.
Technical specifications (typical for this hose class)- Inner diameter (ID): sizes from 3.2 mm to 40 mm
- Inner tube: nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR)
- Reinforcement: braided polyester
- Outer cover: synthetic rubber, oil-, ozone- and weather-resistant
- Colour: black
- Markings (printed on hose): SAE J30R6, BS AU 108/2 L4/C4R
- Temperature range: typically –40 °C to +125 °C
- Working pressure: depends on diameter — smaller IDs carry a higher rated working pressure; larger IDs (filler-neck 25–40 mm) are rated for low-pressure applications
Note: exact working pressure and temperature range vary by size. Always check the marking printed on the hose cover before installation.
Compatible media- Leaded and unleaded petrol (all octane grades)
- Diesel and bio-diesel up to B7
- Heating oil, kerosene
- Hydraulic and lubricating oil (low-pressure systems)
- Ethanol blends up to E10 (for higher ethanol such as E85, use a hose to SAE J30R9)
- Carburettor fuel systems (classic cars, motorcycles, mopeds, small engines)
- Low-pressure fuel feed and return lines
- Filler-neck lines between the tank and filler opening (larger diameters)
- Tank venting and breather lines
- Outboard motors and inboard low-pressure marine systems
- Tractors, lawn mowers, chainsaws, generators and gensets
- Workshop fuel transfer and temporary fuel lines
This hose is not intended for high-pressure systems such as modern common-rail diesel injection or gasoline direct injection (GDI), which require SAE J30R9 (or higher) rated hose. It is also not for corrosive acids, concentrated solvents or fuel blends with ethanol content above E10.
InstallationCut the hose to length with a sharp blade for a clean, square cut, push it onto the barb or fitting, and secure with a metal hose clamp or OEM spring clip. Avoid sharp bends and direct contact with hot engine components.
